Dragon Mother Temple

Situated by the riverside in Guibei Road, Wuzhou, Dragon Mother Temple was built in the Northern Song dynasty in memory of the dragon mother who was once a legendary woman chieftain of the Southern Yue nationalities in the Warring States Period. The dragon mother?is said to have?a moral integrity of helping all the people in need and thus highly respected and regarded as the mother of the descendants of the dragon (namely, Chinese). The temple was rebuilt in the Ming & Qing dynasties and repaired and enlarged in the 1980's. It covers an area of 5000 square meters, including the following main buildings: the gateway, front & rear hall, temporary imperial hall, corridor, pavilion, stone tortoise pond, etc. The Dragon Mother Temple is a well-known historic scenic spot of the South-eastern area of Guangxi and attracts tens of thousands of tourists & devotees from home and abroad.
